چکیده

The presence of a second planet in a known, transiting-planet system will cause the time between transits to vary. These variations can be used to constrain the orbital elements and mass of the perturbing planet. We analyse the set of transit times of the TrES-1 system given in Charbonneau et al. (2005). We find no convincing evidence for a second planet in the TrES-1 system from that data. By further analysis, we constrain the mass that a perturbing planet could have as a function of the semimajor axis ratio of the two planets and the eccentricity of the perturbing planet. Near low-order, mean-motion resonances (within ∼ 1% fractional deviation), we find that a secondary planet must generally have a mass comparable to or less than the mass of the Earth–showing that this data is the first to have sensitivity to sub Earth-mass planets. We compare the sensitivity of this technique to the mass of the perturbing planet with future, high-precision radial velocity measurements.

Atmospheric Characterization of 5 Hot Jupiters with Wide Field Camera 3 on the Hubble Space Telescope

We probe the structure and composition of the atmospheres of 5 hot Jupiter exoplanets using the Hubble Space Telescope Wide Field Camera 3 (WFC3) instrument. We use the G141 grism (1.1-1.7 μm) to study TrES-2b, TrES-4b, and CoRoT-1b in transit, TrES-3b in secondary eclipse, and WASP-4b in both. This wavelength region includes a predicted absorption feature from water at 1.4 μm, which we expect ...

Calculation of 99mTc-DTPA transit times in normal kidney [Persian]

Introduction: Renal dynamic study is a well-established and popular test in routine practice of nuclear medicine. The test is non-invasive, rapid and unique in evaluation of the kidney function. In despite of its clinical values, the parameters derived from renogram are physiologically meaningless. That is due to the fact that renogram is not the true kidney function. From mathematical po...

System Parameters, Transit Times, and Secondary Eclipse Constraints of the Exoplanet Systems Hat-P-4, Tres-2, Tres-3, and Wasp-3 from the Nasa EPOXI Mission of Citation

As part of the NASA EPOXI Mission of Opportunity, we observed seven known transiting extrasolar planet systems in order to construct time series photometry of extremely high phase coverage and precision. Here we present the results for four “hot-Jupiter systems” with near-solar stars—HAT-P-4, TrES-3, TrES-2, and WASP-3. We observe 10 transits of HAT-P-4, estimating the planet radiusRp = 1.332±0...

An analysis of the transit times of CoRoT-Exo-1b

The CoRoT satellite is expected to discover tens of new transiting exoplanets during its mission. For each of these planets there will be a resulting long, continuous sequence of transit times that can be used to search for perturbations arising from an additional planet in the system. I report the results from a study of the transit times for CoRoT-Exo-1b, which was one of the first planets di...

Independent assessment of source transit time for the BEBIG SagiNova® high dose rate brachytherapy afterloader

Introduction: The dwell time and transit time components contribute to the overall delivered dose to patients in high dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy treatments. The transit time results from source entry and exit as well as source movements between dwell positions. It depends on various parameters such as the source speed profile, source indexer distance to dwell position, and ...
